Luckily, Steve had taken the day off of work. Most of the boxes and things were stuff we have lived without for 3.5 years, so it would go up in our attic!! YIKES!!! We had gone over to the Port Lib deli for a sandwich while waiting on them to arrive. (they were about an hour late) There the 3 men were getting a sandwich. We asked them if they were headed to 96 Constitution, they said yes!! Steve then informed them that unfortunately MOST of the boxes went in the hot hot hot attic. We had prepared with 24 bottles of water for them.
When they arrived the first thing out of the lead guys mouth was---"For insurance purposes we can not go up in an attic!".. ha ha,,, Steve's reply was,,,,,"SOMEONE is going up in that attic with those boxes, he did not care IF it were them or someone else". They hemmed and hawed around for a while=------ lead guy said he needed to make a phone call. We said,,,, OK,,,,, then before long Steve's is asked to call "DON" the guy that 'sold' us the move. He tried to explain to Steve how the insurance worked and all. Steve informs him, that they took those boxes out of the attic 3.5 years ago, and he did not care how their insurance worked, but those boxes were going IN THE ATTIC!!! YIKES!! This is not starting out too good!!! (most of the boxes were Christmas decor)
Finally after a few more phone calls, they decided they would go in the attic!!! They worked their butts off, and went through 24 bottles of water!! This all took them 5 hours!! They ended up being really nice guys, and truly worked hard with a smile on their face--even though you KNEW they were not real happy!!!
So,,, Monday and Tuesday we are hoping this hot weather breaks!! Our big shipment arrives on Monday morning between 8 and 9 am,.. they are expecting 2 days of loading and unpacking!!
