Sunday morning November 25, at 9 am we receive a call that Aileen has been rushed to the hospital not breathing well. We wait for more news for about an hour, then decide to quickly start packing. Betsy and Seph are also leaving for home that morning. They were a big help to us, trying to rush around and get going. Steve gets on the phone to Delta and low and behold we get the last two seats in business class on the same flight to Minnie as Betsy and Seph. We throw things in a suitcase and take off for the airport. Our flight is uneventful, and we land in Wichita at 4:30 pm on the same Sunday. We rush to the hospital to be with the family.
Aileen is on a ventilator and it is a very precarious situation. She is aware we are there, but is fighting for her life.
The vigil has begun. Each day brings hope, and our prayers are non stop now to the Lord to help us all through this difficult situation. We are very lucky in that we have the support of a huge family that is all praying for a safe and pain free conclusion on her. She is a fantastic Mother, Mother in Law, and Grandma, and we are all pulling for her.
Say a prayer and send thoughts our way for the entire family.
