Oompah and Emily Jo were fascinated with the bald eagle camera in Decorah. As of about 15 hours ago they had their first confirmed PIP!! What is a pip you might ask?? It is the baby eagle cracking the egg with its 'egg tooth'. I find myself checking this site several times a day too. It is fascinating. Below this post is a time lapse of an eaglet from last year 'pipping' out of its egg.
The nest these eagles are in is estimated to be 6.5 feet wide, and it is 4.5 feet off the ground. I figured it would be much higher than that, but according to their blog these are the dimensions.
